AP Set To Take Over The Aviation Market

AP SET TO TAKE OVER THE AVIATION MARKET

African Petroleum Plc commissioned its multi million-naira aviation sales office, at the local depot of Murtala Mohammed airport Lagos.

The Depot and Refuellers, commissioned by the Chairman, AP Board of Directors, Mr. Ben Anene Osuno, on Tuesday, May 30TH 2006, is part of the company’s efforts at upgrading all AP’s facilities nationwide to meet international standard; and the new AP Board and Management’s resolved to ensure that the company excels in every area of its operations.

The automated state of the art Bowsers being commissioned today were bought from Esterer, in Germany will increase the company’s fleet and AP’s efficiency in the provision of prompt and efficient services to our customers.

To ensure that these equipments are put to effective use, Engineers from the manufacturers are visiting to take AP’s aviation sales operations team, on a training programme on the operation and maintenance techniques of the Bowsers.

The depot storage facilities were earlier upgraded in line with the stipulated international and HSE standards required for into plane fuelling operations. However, another phase of the depot facilities upgrade has commenced, with the construction of an additional 1 million liters storage facility. The project will be concluded by the end of 3rd quarter 2006.

Also, AP’s aviation sales facilities have being rated second to none in international safety standards. It is good to note that AP is currently number 2 in the sub sector. This impressive position notwithstanding, our aviation sales team, are working relentlessly, at increasing our customer base, which already has almost all the international and local airlines operating in Nigeria on it.

AP has embarked on the importation of JET A1, {aviation fuel}, and availability of the products at its facilities at all times, towards the delivery of effective and unequalled services to its teeming customers in the sector.

AP’s new Board and Management are committed and have vowed that all requisite facilities, support and an enabling work environment, would be provided for employees, to support their efforts at increasing AP’s market share, and ensure profitability that the company becomes number one in the downstream sector of the oil and gas industry.
